House in Borlänge, Dalarna, Sweden
We have found otur exchange for the summer of 2025.
Welcome to our house in Borlänge. We live in a small wooden house with a lot of bedrooms and a beautiful garden with apple treas and a big lawn where its possible to play games in summer and play with snow in winter time. We have 4 bedrooms, three with king size beds and one with a normal sized bed. We also have two extra beds which is easy to use so the house can hold four to eight people. If you are many its also possibly to let someone sleep on the sofa.
We hade two bathrooms one in the basement where there´s a shower, a washing machine and a dryer which you are free to use. On the upper floor there´s a bathroom with a bath tub - its one of the favourite things to do when you come home tired after a stressful day!
The kitchen has a dining room with 6 chairs and 4 more in the basement which is easy to bring to the table if you are more than 6 people.
Upstairs is a living room with sofas, piano, guitar and a TV. A nice place to gather in the evening.
We also have a cat called Malva and she has her own cat door and comes and goes as she likes. You will have to look after her during your stay. Give her food and change her water.

About the neighborhood
If you go north a visit in Dalhalla outside Rättvik is an extra ordinary place to explore musik in. We have a lot of cultural destinations in this area. Anders Zorn, Carl Larsson, Jussi Björling is just a few of the famous people who used to live here.

You can go to Stora Tuna church and see were Jussi Björling, the great tenor, is buried.
In the winter time there is a lot of cross country skiing going on check out "www.skidspar.se" to see were . And since we have the "allemansrätt" its also possible to walk in nature almost everywere. If you like to go downhill there is several options such as www.rommealpin.se, www.bjursas.com and many more.
In the summertime there is a lot of water every where, you can go to Jätturn (https://www.lansstyrelsen.se/dalarna/besoksmal/naturreservat/jatturn.html) and try a rowing boat for your self but remember to bring floting gear if you can´t swim. In the summer time Dalarna is famous for its celebration of midsummer. In all different villages they have their own tradition.

Mikael works as a manager for a small trade organization in Sweden and Kerstin as a school governor and music teacher for a primary school in Borlänge. The oldest girl Linnéa has finished university and lives in Gothenburg with her boyfriend while Alma lives in Borlänge and studies at Fornby folk high school. The two boys, Daniel and Johannes goes to aesthetic high school in Falun.
