Traditional French village house, recently renovated

Close to the centre of this thriving village, only a short walk to the shops, restaurants and the public open-air heated swimming pool.
Park your car on the resident's road at the back of the house and enter the garden. Before you get to the house there is the patio, partially sheltered from the sun by the terrace above, equipped with a garden table, chairs and sun umbrella. Sun beds are also available for a siesta in the garden or just to relax.
The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, gas cooker and oven, microwave oven and washing machine. There is also an electric kettle, coffee maker, and toaster.
Climb the stairs to the first floor (second for North Americans) and enter the spacious sitting room, with sofa suite, easy chairs, stereo CD/tape/radio, television & DVD player, coffee table and bookcase (stocked with books in English and games). The sitting room has air-conditioning which can keep the whole first floor cool. Broadband internet access is available via WiFi or Ethernet cable.
Off the sitting room is the 1st floor terrace, which overlooks the garden and is furnished with chairs and a sun umbrella. On the other side of the landing is the first of three bedrooms. On this floor is a newly refurbished shower room, with walk-in shower, WC and wash hand basin.
On the second floor (third for North Americans) are two further bedrooms, one with two single beds, a wardrobe and chest of drawers, the other with a double bed and a single bed. The bathroom on this floor has a shower, WC and wash hand basin.

Within a radius of 50km you can visit lakes, caves, gorges, dolmens, cathedrals, abbeys, châteaux, some of the most beautiful villages in France and you can find out about the Languedoc's gruesome history during the Cathar crusades in the middle ages. If you want to venture a bit further afield, there are the beautiful cities of Montpellier (100km), Toulouse (139km) and Perpignan (100km), not forgetting the historic fortress of Carcassonne (83km). The opportunities for leisure pursuits are almost infinite: walking, hiking, rock climbing, swimming, canoeing, cycling, golf, tennis, fishing, wine-tasting and perhaps the occasional game of Pétanque. The area is also rich in pre-historic and roman relics with the Via Domitia, the oldest roman road in Gaul crossing the region from one side to the other, roughly 20km inland from the sea. The Canal du Midi also crosses the region in a different direction connecting the Mediterranean with the Atlantic, adding a different dimension to the diversity of the South. Gourmets and Wine Lovers will be delighted in Languedoc-Roussillon with a wide variety of fascinating traditional dishes and an even bigger selection of distinguished wines to be discovered.

Saint-Chinian is a thriving village, nestled in the foothills between the Montagne Noire and the Cévennes, being almost equidistant from the beaches of the Mediterranean and the Haut-Languedoc Regional Park. It is at the centre of the AOC wine region by the same name and is a focal point for the surrounding area.
