Our Neighbourhood
Our house is in a private lane, protected from the street by a building whose door opens with a code. It is a quiet and safe place, where you can hear the birds singing in the morning.
We are very close to the Père Lachaise cemetery, which is an historic and very green place. It is in this neighbourhood that the singers Edith Piaf and Maurice Chevalier were born. A former working class neighbourhood, it has remained very cosmopolitan and popular among young people and artists.
There are two large parks close by: the Belleville park, from which you have a superb view of Paris, and the Buttes Chaumont park. There are also many shops, cafés, theatres and concert venues such as the Maroquinerie (www.lamaroquinerie.fr ) or the Bellevilloise (www.labellevilloise.com/home-en)
The district is very well served by bus and metro which will allow you to quickly reach the more touristic areas of the capital.

BE185Nous n'avons pas rencontré la famille, mais la maison corespond parfaitement à la description de l'annonce et est un vrai petit refuge sympathique dans un quartier très multicuturel de Paris (le 20e) avec des commodités faciles de communication (bus au coin de la rue et métro à distance raisonnable).

BE50657We had a lovely stay in Paris! The house is located behind a building, so it's really quiet and when you look outside you only see green plants and small trees. Really lovely. You could also sit outside. There are metro stations closeby and you can walk to père Lachaise. There are also a lot of supermarkets and traiteurs in the area. We would definitely recommend the house and of course Sophie and Claude-Eric! We had a smooth and easy-going communication.
