Modern house close to Toulouse, with swimming-pool
This year, we would be happy to find an exchange in California as we would like to discover San Francisco, Los Angeles and the great parks in between! But we are also open to any idea!
Our house is a modern, recently built house with two floors. On the ground floor, there is a large living room with open kitchen, a garage, one double bed bedroom, one bedroom with a convertible sofa, a bathroom and a washing room. The first floor has 3 children rooms, two with double beds and a bathroom. Outside we have a nice garden with a swimming-pool, a trampoline and a basketball hoop. We have 5 adults bikes.
We live in Colomiers, a town in the suburb of Toulouse. Our town offers several restaurants, several supermarkets, a public swimming pool, a train and bus station, some playgrounds, etc.
Toulouse historical town can be accessed by car in less than 15 min, or by bus or by train (10 min walk from home).
Toulouse, the « pink city » has a very nice center, and you can reach most interesting places in the downtown area comfortably on foot.
You can also visit Airbus (where we work ;-), the aeronautic company, which offers tours of their facilities in French and English.
The "space city is another of Toulouse's "aviation" attractions (sort of scientific theme park without rides).
Around Toulouse
Midi-Pyrenees country gathers 26 « grands sites » to discover around Toulouse.

Unspoilt countryside and wide open spaces, villages of character and historical attractions, rivers and canals, vineyards and towns in the colours so typical of the South of France: Midi-Pyrénées is all about discovery, exploration, new experiences and the human touch. Famous for its gastronomy, friendly and endearing, this region takes up much of Southwestern France between the Atlantic and the. Mediterranea.
Among them, you can discover:
The Canal du Midi or Canal des Deux Mers is a 240 km long canal which connects the Garonne River to the Étang de Thau on the Mediterranean. The Canal du Midi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. it is very nice to cycle along the canal, and it is possible to go to the Mediterranean See in two-days cycling trip, and to come back with train.
Albi the largest city in the department of Tarn with its Cathedral listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site
The famous Cité de Carcassonne, a medieval fortress restored by the theorist and architect Eugène Viollet-le-Duc in 1853 and added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.
The Pyrenees
This outstanding mountain landscape, which spans the contemporary national borders of France and Spain, at only one hour drive from Toulouse.
It’s worth coming to Midi-Pyrénées for the food and wine alone. This is a region where love of fine food and good company is in our blood, where excellence is part of everyday life, and where a meal with family or friends is a cause for celebration.
A region of vineyards, Midi-Pyrénées produces wines of the finest quality. The appellations Cahors and Gaillac, together with the wine areas of Gers (including the legendary Armagnac), have been awarded Vignobles & Découvertes certification.
A bit further, you can also reach:
- Bordeaux, its vineyards and the Atlantic Ocean, at 250 km
- Narbonne and the Mediterranean See, at 150 km
- Paris is at 600 km

US52022We were very happy with this exchange. Our exchange partners were accurate in their representation of their home. Our communications, throughout the entire process, were very productive. They were organized, and their home was comfortable and welcoming. We had the opportunity of meeting with them and I feel that our meeting resulted in the beginning of a real friendship. .
