Luxury House in Castricum, Netherlands (seaside, close to Amsterdam)
Dear Intervac members,
Welcome to our beautiful home in Castricum, located in the suburbs of Amsterdam (a short trainride of 20 minutes). We live in a spacious, 3-bedroom house with two newly renovated, modern bathrooms. Besides a cosy patio garden with lots of privacy our house features a generous livingroom with a modern open kitchen. The house features airconditioning. We have two bycicles for you to use to explore the surroundings. Castricum is a quiet as well as bubbly town with facilities ranging from a big shopping centre to a cinema and of course the beach of the North Sea, easily accessible by car or bike. As the house is situated in the village centre all facilities like train station, restaurants, market, shops and supermarket are within easy walking distance. Castricum is the ideal place for bike lovers: we have hundreds of kilometers of separate bike lanes.
You are very welcome to use everything from our WiFi to our Netflix account. We're open to car-exchange as well.

Castricum is an ideal village both for staying-in as for exploring the rest of the Netherlands within your stay. A few cities worth visiting are only a short drive away, including:
- Amsterdam (offers many museums, including the Rijksmuseum with the Nachtwacht, always with English explanations)
- Alkmaar (famous for its cheesemarket)
- Haarlem
- Rotterdam
- Volendam (for a true, traditional Dutch experience)
- Edam, charming historical town
Looking to explore the rest of Europe when visiting the Netherlands as well? Even Paris and London are incredibly easy to reach from Castricum.
Castricum really offers the best of both worlds: both experiencing the Dutch city-life as the country-side life will be possible. You will be glad to know that communicating in English is never a problem in the Netherlands: practically everyone is fluent in English and will be happy to talk with you.
As mentioned in our introduction, Castricum offers all facilities you could wish for, making your stay as pleasant as possible (including a cinema, the beach, a shopping center and various restaurants and cafes as well as parks). This was the second time that we’ve exchanged with this partner. Their house is lovely and so well situated for the town, countryside and beach. We had a great time, thank you.

Great location near the town and railway station with great access to brilliant cycling opportunities.
Beautiful home in a fantastic location, with access to city and sea. The family communicated clearly and we had a truly fabulous holiday.
