Fritidshus Nävekvarn, Södermanland, Sweden
My summer house is situated in the village Nävekvarn, in Södermanland county, about 1,5 hours south of Stockholm. Nävekvarn is a costal village and from my house it is just 10 minutes walk to the beach and harbour. There is a gorcery store in the village.
I have three small blue houses in a community with many other summer houses, all built around 1980. I my three houses there are 8 beds, two WC and one bathroom. The two bigger houses (6 beds) has heating and a stove and can be used all year around.
The garden is big, has many apple trees and a lot of roses.
Next door neighbour is a soccer field and a playground for children.
The closest town is Nyköping, 18 km from Nävekvarn. Södermanland is well known for its beautiful farming landscape with rounded hills, and many historical castles and mansions. Kolmården, the biggest wild life park in Sweden, is just 20 km from my house.
I also have a 2 bedroom apartment with three beds in the city (Solna, suburb close to Stockholm) that can be used for exchange.

Nävekvarn has a guest harbour for boats, with active harbour life with restaurant, camping site and amusement park (Folkpark) in the summer.
During the summer there is swimming from the rocks and sandy beach, camping, a marina, a fish-market, a cafe and B & Bs.
Nävsjön - a paradise for anglers, fishermen, hikers and nature lovers. In the winter, Nävsjön is also appreciated by skaters, cross-country skiers and ice anglers.
Kolmården, the biggest wild life park in Sweden, is just 20 km away.
Around Nävekvarn there is the village of Koppartorp with Tunaberg’s wooden church from the 17th century, the mining museum and the hiking trail Sörmlandsleden.
Södermanland county is a stunningly beautiful farming area where a lot of the Swedish history has its roots. Many royal castles and noble mansions can be visited, as well as the traditionally red wooden farming houses.
Nävekvarn is approximately 20 km from Nyköping.
If you are looking for more city pulse the car, as well as the train from Nyköping, will take you to Stockholm center within 1,5 hour.

My husband and I have made many exchanges over the years - with Spain, England, France, Denmark and Switzerland - but since my husband passed away 2,5 years ago I have lost my exchange energy - up till now.
Now I have a friend family, two adults and two teenage children, who want to travel with me, so we are looking for an exchange early January 2024, preferably in a big city on train distance from Sweden.
My three small blue houses can be used during winter, hopefully with beautiful white snowy surroundings (but there is no guaratee, due to climate change).
