Neighborhood

About the neighborhood

Changing, with some rentals due to housing boom and being near the university. Our neighbourhood is located in the centre of a transportation hub with good bus routes. The neighbourhood is made up of single family homes with younger familes moving in due to the proximity to the schools. There is an elementry, middle, high school and university all within walking distance and a recreation centre. g distance. A major new shopping area is almost completed at the end of our street with a large grocery store, home depot and fast food and business amenities.
There is also an indepentant seniors housing unit in the neighbourhood, a play park, and a a large mountain/ocean forested park for hiking.
Despite all the near by boom, it is a small neighbourhood made up of only 3 streets off two busy streets.

One of our best exchanges we've had. From first contact every message was helpful and delightful. We were met in person at the ferry from Vancouver. We were introduced to family and neighbours, so if we had any issues we knew who to contact. The home was comfortable and spacious. The car easy to drive. There was so much to do in Victoria and on Vancouver Island. We would definitely be happy to return.

Retired seniors but reinvented as writer and handyman who love to travel via home exchanges.

We are two retired professionals but Mark is enjoying a second career as a home handyman, working with our son in his renovation business. I love walking either urban landscapes or parks and wilderness areas. I also love cooking, and write travel and person short narratives.

Currently my husbands sister lives in our downstairs suite, but is extremely quiet and reclusive.

We have 3 adult children all living in the city or within easy drive so we get to see our 4 teenaged grandchildren and our wild and crazy Vizsla grandpuppy.

My husband & I love traveling, usually and with one or two family members. We also enjoy reading, learning about the area we visit, like wine, and I enjoy cooking.
