Skanderborg, Denmark

We are situated in the middle of Denmark in a very beautiful part with a lot of lakes and forests. It is also in the highest part though Denmark is very flat. There are plenty of possibilities to go bicycling or go for walks in a lot of different nature types. In the summer we go for a swim in a clean lake nearby (5 km) or we go to a very beautiful beach a bit further away (30 km). There are golf courts nearby and several possibilities to go canoeing or kayaking in the most beautiful nature of Denmark. We have 2 kayaks available for you to explore the local lake and river. With a fishing license it is possible to go fishing in both fresh and salty water. Electric boats can be rented.

There are also plenty of turist attractions nearby;

Legoland is worldwide known, Djurs Summerland (an activity park), Skandinavisk Dyrepark (a scandinavian animalpark), Løveparken (a more traditional zoo but with good facilities for the animals), Aqua (local wild animals and fresh water fish), Kattegat Centret (aquarium for sharks and native salt water fish) and Lalandia (indoor swim paradise) are attractions worth experiencing with children.

Moesgaard is a modern interactive museum for people interested in history and vikings. The Old Town in Aarhus is showing how we Danes used to live in beautiful old houses. Aros is exhibiting modern art and a bit futher away The Waden Sea center is exhibiting a very aesthetic mix of art and nature close to the the UNESCO World Heritage Waden Sea.

Denmark is also known for its gourmet restaurants and high quality local foods. This area is no exception.
