A nice townhouse in Stockholm close to public transport and close to city

We live in a yellow charming townhouse built 1948 with a small garden in a friendly and calm neighborhood. Great location with just a 8 minute walk to the subway station. From the subway station "Gubbangen" there is just 12 minutes to the south part of the city centre (Sodermalm), and 16 to the city centre. By car it takes only 8 minutes to Sodermalm (if not rush hour), very easy to drive.

I'm divorced and have three children from earlier marriage (one big brother and two little sisters - 15, 13 and 11 years old). There is a small playground in a grove just 200 meters from the house. There is a bigger playground with a skate park a five minute walk from the house.

There is a grocery store, pharmacy and restaurants where the subway station is (8 minute walk from the house). There is also a McDonald's restaurant in to the neighborhood.

Stockholm is a beautiful city with lots of water and islands. There are plenty of places you can swim in, both in city and in the outskirts. You can just stroll around in the city and see a lot of beautiful sceneries, views and architecture. The Old Town (Gamla stan) is a medieval island in the center of Stockholm and is a must to visit. There are also plenty of shopping opportunities i Stockholm. From the "cool" area of Sodermalm, the more mainstream City (Drottninggatan) to the posh and expensive Östermalm.

On the big beautiful green island Djurgården there are a lot of museums etc. For instance Skansen (open air museum and zoo), Gröna lund (amusement park), Vasamuseet (old 17th century war ship) and Junibacken (children literature museum) are enjoyable for children.

A ten minute walk from our house you have the famous cemetery Skogskyrkogården which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It will give you cultural points :o)

From our house there is a 5 minute drive by car to the lake Flaten with beaches. There are more beaches around, and even in the city (Långholmsbadet, Rålambshovsbadet and Tanto strandbad). If you want pools you have Eriksdalsbadet on Sodermalm 8 minutes away by car (also accesable via subway station "Skanstull").

If you are tired of the city and the beaches, you can explore the famous archipelago of Stockholm. Take a boat ride and enjoy. You can also hike in the "wilderness" on Sörmlandsleden. The first part of it starts by the subway station Björkhagen (a 25 minute ride from Gubbängen), and ends close bus stops that will take you back to Gubbängen. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S%C3%B6rmlandsleden It is also easy to take a ferry and cruise to Finland from Stockholm. The cruise goes through the archipelago and is very beautiful.

Unfortunately, I'm (dad) allergic to cats and can't stay in a house where there are cats to take care of. However, dogs are no problem and they are welcome to stay in our house.

Our Neighbourhood

Nearest Airport: Arlanda - 48 km

Its a friendly neighborhood with townhouses and houses, a lot of children and playgrounds. Its very close to the city, just 10 minutes with subway. There is also a big and resently renovated playground close with a skating ramp, fotboll, and a lot of fun stuff for small children as well.

Its very close to the city (Stockholm, the main capital of Sweden), 10 minutes by subway and walking distans to the subway. If you take the car to the city it only takes 5 minutes. Stockholm is a beutiful summer city with a lot of water. I recomend to take a boat (ferry) out in the arkepelago, as a daytripp.

If you want to swim you can go to a swimming lake, Flaten, 5 minutes by car. In the city of Stockholm you also have a lot of beaches if you want to swim in the ocean. Just 10 minutes with subway you have Eriksdalsbadet, a big swimmingpool area where we use to go with are one children during summertime, beautifuly located.

If you would like to go by bike to the city, its easy and close by, and something that many people do, including me and my husband.
