Brantevik, Suecia

Our country house is situated in Brantevik, a small former fishing village just south of Simrishamn, in beautiful Österlen. The house lies less than 500 metres from the Baltic Sea, and there are several nice beaches close by. It is an eco-friendly house, with straw bales in the walls and plaster on the outside.
Half the main part of the house has an upper floor, while the other half is open up to the ridge, and since it has a rather open floor plan sounds transmit rather easily between the kitchen and the upper floor.
Downstairs there is a fully-equipped kitchen (with dishwasher, but no microwave oven) and a dining area connected to a living room, containing a fire place. There is also a bathroom with a shower, toilet and washing machine, a separate bed room with a double bed, and a separate office, with a single bed and a cross trainer. On first floor there is a double bed, and also a living room with a TV (and a sofa bed). The garden is full with apple trees (in fact it used to be an orchard for apple trees), and there is also, f ex, an almond tree, a japanese cherry tree, a water staircase with a small pond, and a root cellar. In the summers we usually put up a hammock in the garden.
