Renovated 1 Bedroom in Quiet Building Conveniently Located

Our renovated 1 bedroom flat is unique and ready to share. Set back from the street and in a building with 8 apartments, this small flat is comfortable for two people and can accomodate a third person on a sleeper sofa. There are several short steps up to the building and the interior door. The apartment then has its own stair case to the living area which is furnished with dining/work table, chairs, bookshelves, credenza, lounge chair, and a small sleeper sofa. The kitchen, with tall windows on two sides, is equipped with oven, stove, sink, and refrigerator. Dishes must be washed by hand. The bathroom has a walk-in closet and storage area and separate shower, toilet, and laundry room. In the bedroom, there are ceiling high bookshelves surrounding a queen sized bed which takes up the majority of the floor space. This apartment is small, but quiet and cozy; we find it a refuge from the busy city life found just down the street.

Neighborhood

About the neighborhood

Our apartment is located in the Nomentano neighborhood, just down the street from the park surrounding the Villa Torlonia. We think Nomentano is one of the great underrated neighborhoods of Rome! There are shops and restaurants of all sorts within an easy walk.
The Mercato Nomentano, near the Porto Pia, is close by for produce shopping and an easy lunch. There are numerous grocery stores and specialist shops within easy walking on your way home. La Sapienza Universita adds another dimension to Nomentano, as does the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale.

Nomentano has very good transportation options and on Via Nomentana, one can easily catch a bus to Villa Ada, Villa Borghese, Barberini, Termini and San Lorenzo. Several buses on Via Nomentana go directly downtown, including express buses. The Bologna and Castro Pretoria Metro (subway) stops are within walking distance and connect to all the major hubs.

We are a professional creative Italian and American couple living in Providence, Rhode Island, USA. Lucia, graphic designer and artist, is Roman, born and raised. She has spent years living and working in the UK and now the US. Forrest, academic and artist, grew up in the mid-west and has called New England his home most of his adult life. We love traveling way off the beaten paths and much prefer quirky to cookie-cutter. We have a long term goal of living in the Italian countryside with friends and family.
