Semi-detached family house in Heerhugowaard, Dijk en Waard
We will consider any proposal for a home exchange.
Prefer for an exchange in one of the following time comments:
We have done a lot of experience in exchanging all over Europe since our first exchange in Leamington Spa in Great-Britain, in the summer of 1982. We are looking for exchanging holidays during the season, but not in the wintertime. Destinations we prefer for 1-week exchanges, will be in the Netherlands and countries round our country. In the summertime we also look for countries in other parts of Europe like Central-Europe.
Our house is in the municipality of Dijk en Waard, in the place Heerhugowaard in the quarter 'Edelstenenwijk'.
The municipality of Dijk en Waard, consists of the former municipalities of Heerhugowaard and Langedijk.
Public transport is close to our house. Bus stations at the 'Diamant' within 5 walk-minutes and the railwaystation of Heerhugowaard at 15 walk-minutes or 10 bike-minutes from our house. There are good buss connections to neighbouring places like Alkmaar, Bergen (NH) and Ursem.
The trainstation of Heerhugowaard is on the line Den Helder - Amsterdam Central Station - Nijmegen and
also on the line Hoorn - Haarlem - Amsterdam Central Station.
Our house, built in 1978, is a one family house and it has a downstairs, a first floor and a second floor.
It has downstairs a living room with an open kitchen, a hall with toilet and an attached barn for the the bicycles (2).
In front of our house there is a private parking-place for parking during your stay On the 1st floor, there is a a bathroom with a toilet and the washingmachine. Further there are the two bedrooms with in each room a double bed. In the bedroom in the front of the house the size of the bed is 1,4 m x 2,0 m. In the bedroom at the back of the house the size of the bed is
1,30 m x 2,10 m. in the attic stuff is stored. Behind the house we have a garden surrounded by a hedge and trees. The neighbourhood is quiet and we have friendly neigbours. The house is not set up on the visit of young children.
We live only 5 minutes walk from the (car-free) city center of Heerhugowaard. Here you can find the Government Office and Library. Also the shopping mall 'Middenwaard', with over 150 shops. Between 2 squares, Stadsplein and Coolplein, there is a boulevard with a lot of restaurants with an (inter)national kitchen. At the Coolplein there is the bowling alley "de Waerd" with sportscafé, the casino, the cultural center 'Cool' and the movie center 'Vue'. The city centre can easily be reached by foot or by bike. If you need the car for shopping in one of the supermarkets (DEKAmarkt or Albert Heijn or Lidl) in the shopping mall 'Middenwaard', you can park in one of the paid parkinggarages. Gas station BP, is close to the shopping mall at the Zuidtangent.

About the neighborhood
Nice for visit in our area:
HEERHUGOWAARD: a nice city in the heart of the province of Noord-Holland, is close to the cheese city of Alkmaar and to the coast of Noord-Holland. It is an agreeable place to work and live in and has many recreational opportunities to offer. Heerhugowaard's large shopping centre, Middenwaard, is about five minutes walk from our house. Here you can go for daily needs, clothing and various other stuff.
Museum in Heerhugowaard: "Het oude gemaal", Huygendijk 17, was built in 1877, when heavy rainfall in the winter of 1874-1875 flooded a large part of the Waardse Polder for five weeks. The construction of the building – a private enterprise – was led by the polder boss at the time, J. Leguit. In this museum you can explore some historical features of the polder Heerhugowaard. For more info in dutch language visit the website: https://sites.google.com/poldermuseumheerhugowaard.nl/hetoudegemaal/

Experienced home exchangers, pleasant mutual communication. The house on offer is correctly displayed.
