Flat in Sachseln, Switzerland
Sachseln is a quiet village in the middle of Switzerland with about 5500 inhabitants. We live in a apartment in the centre of the village, only two minutes from the railway station, 150 from the lake and you have a nice view to the mountains and over the lake of Sarnen. It's a 35 minutes car drive to Luzern and 25 by train.
Despite its size, Sachseln offers a varied palette of leisure activities that involve the surrounding mountains and the lake: surfing, rowing, hiking, biking, mountain-biking, in-line skating, mini-golfing, and playing tennis or badminton.
The village itself offers several pleasant restaurants. Because of Sachseln’s central location, there are many excursion possibilities.

Sehr zuvorkommende Tauschpartner, die sich darum bemüht haben, die Tauschvereinbarung früh abzuschliessen. Die Angaben zum Zugang zum Haus und die aufgelegten Informationen zu Aktivitäten in der näheren und weiteren Umgebung hilfreich. Grosszügig zudem die bereitgestellten Lebensmittel und der süffige Likör, dem ich gerne zugesprochen habe. Herzlichen Dank. Unser Kontakte während des Austausches waren persönlich und angenehm. Was die Küche anbelangt ist die Einrichtung relativ bescheiden, genügte aber durchaus unseren Ferienansprüchen. Aus der Sicht von Autofahrern kann ich mir vorstellen, dass die Angabe, man bräuchte ein Auto für diesen Austausch, zutreffend ist. Nur mit dem Fahrrad ausgerüstet, hatten wir unsererseits eine Mühe, unseren Aufenthalt sehr attraktiv zu gestalten.
A very spacious apartment with all the necessary amenities located in the heart of Switzerland, ideal for exploring central Switzerland, its lakes, great mountains, walks, cities, and with a very pleasant family.
Romslig hus med deilig veranda. Sachseln er et fint sted å være, med vakre vann og fjell, og godt offentlig transport. Bra kontakt med eieren, som også tok godt vare på huset vårt. Nice flat with a lot of space and great covered balcony. Sachseln is a pleasant place to be, with water and mountains and nice people. A lot of marked trails. Good public transport. Good communication with the owner, who gave us a lot of information and even tickets for a cable car! They also took good care of our house. Great swap!
Un séjour très agréable dans une région magnifique et un appartement de grand standing avec une vue imprenable sur les montagnes. A deux pas d'une petite plage au bord d'un lac. Des endroits fabuleux à découvrir et un accueil très chaleureux par nos hôtes le premier soir. Nous avons retrouvé notre maison comme à notre départ !

Dolores (80) and me (77) moved to Sachseln in 1976. Untill our retirement Dolores was a teacher at the secondary school and I teached at the high school in Sarnen.
We spent five years in Indonesia (1981-1983, 1989-1992) where I worked for the Swiss Development Cooperation.
2003 to 2011 we lived in Lucerne. After, we returned to Sachseln and bought our new appartement in the centre of the village.
All of our children are married. That means that we look often after our 9 grandchildren.
The children are not traveling with us.
