Family house in the heart of the alps, near Innsbruck, Tyrol, Austria

We are living in a three storied duplex house in a quiet residential area on the plateau of Mutters (ca. 900 m above sea level). Our house, built in 2018, is surrounded by two small gardens and a spacious terrace in the top floor. Although not visible from outside, our house is completely made of wood. Our building style is boxy, straight and reduced.

Our home is located in a new housing estate with predominantly young families and correspondingly many children in the neighbourhood. Our neighbours are helpful, lovely and quiet. We are living in a play street, which means that children have priority and cars have to drive at walking speed. Mutters is located 5 km south of Innsbruck and thus offers both: the opportunities and amenities of a provincial capital with 130,000 inhabitants and the quietness and quality of life of a small suburb.

The house has two bedrooms (double beds 180x200 and 140x200) with attached bathrooms and one children's room (bunk bed 90x200). At the moment our little daughter´s crib is in use in the master bedroom. The top floor consists of a single large room where we cook, eat, live, chill and play music. Another two guests could sleep there on the sofa. On the first floor and basement there are gardens in front of the bedrooms, on the top floor a large terrace surrounds the living-dining-cooking area. The floors are connected by a spiral staircase.

The house is oriented to the east, south and west. The view extends from the mountains over the Bergisel ski jump to Innsbruck and the Inn valley.

Mutters is a village for bikers, hikers and families. Located south of Innsbruck it offers many opportunities especially for sports enthusiasts.

We are conveniently located near the provincial capital Innsbruck (10 min), Munich (120 min), Salzburg (120 min), Bozen (90 min). Also Bavaria (Neuschwanstein castle) and Switzerland are possible suggestions for a day trip. Mutters is also available by public transport (tram, bus).
Some smaller facilities and farm markets are available in Mutters. There is as well a tourist office. A recently modernized public pool is a two minutes walk away (only open in summer). Attached to it are also a nice public playground and a beach volley court for free. A soccer field can be reached in a 5 minutes walk.

Tyrol is very touristy. One advantage of this is the unmanageable number of activities, attractions and infrastructure for leisure. There is something for every age, for every state of health, for every season, for every weather, for every wallet and for every taste. Since not even locals are able to experience all this variety in one lifetime, Tyrol can easily keep our guests busy.

You can start your cycling or mountain biking tour just at the entrance door. As well as (nordic) walking, hiking or running. Climbing (on rock and indoor), via ferrata, rafting, angling, kayaking, canyoning or paragliding are other possibilities for adrenaline junkies. For a notion of winter there are glacier ressorts reachable via cablecar. For those who prefer it more quiet, Innsbruck offers a variety of activities, attractions, sightseeing (historic centre, imperial heritage) and culture. In Innsbruck there are also many opportunities to loose money (malls, grocery stores, casino, bars ....).
