Lovely family home near the beach
Welcome to our home! A modern wooden house with high ceilings. Only a few minutes walk from a lovely sandy beach.
The house is a true family home with 4 bedrooms, a large living room in open connection with the kitchen, 2 bathrooms (one with a bathtub) and a laundry room.
We can arrange extra mattresses if necessary.
In the backyard there is a terrace, shelter, lots of berries for you to eat, and football goals. In the front yard there is a trampoline and a place for playing basketball. Gas barbecue available.
The house is perfect for children - we have everything you need for children, e.g. two high chairs and lots of games and toys including a big selection of Lego Technic. We also have a TV and a Nintendo Wii.
We have a young sweet cat called Amigo. He is low maintenance. :) He has a a cat flap and goes in and out as he wants. And he can manage to be home alone for a few days. If you prefer, he can be elsewhere during an exchange.
We really love our location being close to both the beach and the forest. We are sure you will love it too!
Elsinore is just 10 minutes away by car. It is a very charming city with many old houses, and you can visit Kronborg Castle, the great Maretime Museum and eat tasty street food, just to mention a few things.
In 40 minutes by car you can be in wonderful Copenhagen. You can also take the train from Snekkersten - there is a direct connection 4 times/hour to Copenhagen (45 minutes). In Copenhagen there are many top sights like Tivoli Gardens amusement park, the Zoo, Amalienborg Castle, and many world class restaurants.
From Elsinore there are many daily ferry departures to Helsingborg, Sweden (20 minutes). So if you would like to explore Southern Sweden as well, it can easily be done from our home.
We can offer 3 bicycles (for adults), one of them electric, and two children's bicycles (20” and 24”). We also have three kick scooters.
Our car is a VW Golf stationcar from 2015 with stick shift, and we have two car seats for children.
If you like water sports, you will enjoy our stand up paddle board.
Since we have young children, we would prefer exchanging with other families with young children - toys etc are simply a big plus. But we are of course open to all proposals. :)

Snekkersten is located in a beautiful area with beaches and woods. Originally Snekkersten was a fishing village, but now it is more like a suburb to Elsinore (Helsingør), that is a charming city with a population of 46.000 people.
Our house is on a quiet street, just 100 m from a school with a playground.
There is a very good restaurant in Snekkersten, a short walk from the house. The menu is a mix of the French and Nordic kitchen.
At Snekkersten Harbour there is a nice cafe where you can eat lunch and dinner (only open in summertime). Snekkersten beach is nice and sandy, and there is a little ice cream parlour (only open in summertime).
You will find a supermarket and a grocery store within 1 km.
The train station 600 m from the house, with connections to Copenhagen (45 min), Elsinore (4 min) and Hillerød (25 min).

We had a wonderful time in Helle and Kim's home in Snekkerston. Their house is bright, airy, comfortable and perfect for relaxing in on lazy summer days. The house is just a short walk to the beach and Elsinore is a 15 minute cycle along the coast. Helle and Kim were wonderful to deal with. We had a fantastic holiday, I couldn't recommend it more.
We had a lovely time in Helle and Kim's house. The house is bright and beautiful and located close to a wonderful beach. The garden is nice and we spend some warm nights there enjoying good barbeque. The hosts gave us all possible information about the neighbourhood and what places would be interesting to visit. They were also very good visitors in our house. We highly recommend an exchange with Kim and Helle.

We are a family of 4: Kim (1985), Helle (1984), Selma (2016) and Manfred (2018).
Both Kim and Helle work as medical doctors, and we love to travel and explore.
We are decent people, and we will take good care of your house.
We have so far done 5 home exchanges in Iceland, Austria, Ireland, Switzerland, and Sweden, and we love this way of travelling. We are excited to do many more home exchanges!
